Removing old versions of a file from the library

I have a file in my library with three versions:
v1: has errors
v2: placeholder file
v3: correct version

How do I delete or prevent access to v1 and v2 while leaving v3 alone?

I don't want to delete the whole thing and start over because I have published links to the download page from a URL shortener.
