The Social Networking for bridge is built to:
  • Make sure your Social Network has up-to-date profile and group information
  • Run in the background, so your staff does not need to manually run updates
  • Fix problems automatically in case any updates are interrupted
  • Provide your technical staff with comprehensive information about data issues should any arise

Initial Population of Social Network
When your Social Networking for bridge is first installed, your deployment team will work with you on the initial population of your Social Network. WHO is allowed into your social network is determined by the IDs returned by the "SocialNetworkAllowView".

Regular Tasks that Update Information
Bridge synchronization tasks are run throughout the day, every day, so that your members never notice a difference between their information in and your Social Network.
  • On Demand When your members sign in for the first time or edit their profile from the community, the bridge retrieves their latest profile on-demand.
  • "network_allow" Brings over the profiles of members added in the last hour who should be allowed into your network. This task runs every hour throughout the business day. If a new member tries to access your network within that hour, they will be allowed in via On Demand synchronization, so there is never a delay between registration and access to the community.
  • "update_profiles" Brings over the profile data that has changed in the last 24 hours. This task runs in the middle of the night (Pacific Time).
  • "update_group_members" Refreshes the lists of group members for all linked groups, where the membership is driven from . This task runs every 4 hours throughout the business day.

Manually Forcing Information to Update
  • Manually Updating Group Membership ("update_group_members")
    1. Go to the Group's "Edit Group Settings" page
    2. Click on the "Edit" link next to "View iMIS Group Synchronization Status & Settings Page"
    3. Click the "Update group membership from iMIS now" link
