I) To add/change/edit the text on a page that you can reach on the site, follow these steps:
  1. Log on and go to the page you wish to edit
  2. At the top-right of the page (or bottom-right on some websites), click on "Turn Edit Links On". If you do not enough permissions, you will not see this link.
  3. You will still be on the same page, but now there will be little pencil icons next to different sections of text
  4. Click on the pencil icon AT THE END OF the section of text you want to work on. Sometimes this edit icon is slightly underneath the content you want to edit.
  5. When you have clicked on the appropriate pencil icon, you will be taken to a page with the heading "Editing Site Language: English". (Some of our customers have text in multiple languages, so that's why the language name is there.)
  6. On this page, there will be a text box that contains the site text as it currently exists in that section. You can edit it just the way you would any document: delete, add, change text as you wish. You can also use the various icons on top of the text box to do things to the text like underline, change font size, etc.
  7. The "History" section down on the lower left of this page, will display the entire history of who has made what changes to the text and when they were made. Press "Show" next to History if you wish to see all those tracked changes.
  8. When you have finished editing the text, press the "Save English" button, and, voila, the new text will be displayed on the site!

II) To add/change the text on a page that you can NOT reach easily on the site, follow these steps:

Some pages cannot be edited directly on the page. For instance, some pages are not reachable once you have signed in. This is a problem since you must be signed in to edit them. (e.g., The page someone reaches the first time they sign in is one such page.) To edit this content, you use the Edit (Advanced) feature of Admin Tools.

If you are trying to edit the User Agreement, see also: http://www.golightly.com/vb/showthread.php?t=120

Exact steps follow:
  1. make sure site is being displayed in the language you wish to work on (if your site supports multiple languages)
  2. go to Admin Tools, click on Edit (advanced)
  3. in the Search for Field Value box, enter an existing phrase from the text you wish to edit (try to choose a phrase that does not appear on many site pages, this phrase is just being used to find the page to edit)
  4. click on Search
  5. you will be on the Edit Site Language page where the pages that contain the text you searched for will be displayed
  6. locate the exact page and section you wish to edit and click on the edit link in the field you wish to edit
  7. this will bring up the Editing Site Language page, with the current text displayed in the text box
  8. edit the text and click on Save
  9. you will be back on the Edit Site Language page, where you can choose to edit other sections or pages if you wish

III) To change the layout of content pages (i.e., change a page's template):
See the following Learning Center Entry: http://www.golightly.com/vb/showthread.php?t=160
