Workgroups

Your staff and/or members can create an unlimited number of groups within your community (unless the administrator decides not to allow members to create groups on their own).

Each group has powerful collaboration tools, including its own home page, Facebook-style news feed, participant directory, privacy settings, Google map, and depending on the modules you purchase, can also have full-featured email listserv, library, calendar, forum, blog and wiki.

Group moderators (one or more per group) can edit the group home page using a WYSIWYG editor that permits the moderator to create a rich looking chapter website that incorporates formatting, video, photographs and other features. The moderator can also create the HTML for this description in some other program and paste it into the description editor.

The moderator(s) have very granular privacy and access controls over:

  1. Who can join,
  2. Who can view the group’s emails, forum, blog, wiki, library, or participant directory,
  3. Who can edit the forum, blog, wiki or library,
  4. Who can send email,
  5. Whether moderator approval is required before email messages are delivered and
  6. Whether or not to archive email messages.

The administrator can even make a group invisible to anyone who is not a group member.
